Owari?

Not sure if this is even a proper owari cause I really doubt I can sever my ties with anime club that accompanied my full-time tertiary studies. SUAC will always be my longest serving club especially with all the great people that I came to knew and all the great anime and manga thrown to me.

On the last meeting which was held on 23.11.2011, I made a proper get-together dinner as like a farewell of some sort. It was held at none other than Medan which is befitting of our casual club. During the dinner, I thought of my journey in SUAC. It was such a roller-coaster ride that I am sure I will never ever forget.

Initially started out at the club as a fairly shy junior and slowly worked my way to know great seniors, from the first Kaichou, Bin Yun, my lou po chai, RINI-Chan, Advyn and all the other great people. Furthermore, to be able to contribute in AniManGaki is an honour by itself. I learnt so much by being involved in both the planning and execution parts. I learnt to foresee problems, troubleshoot for others and even take things into my hand if necessary. My next enjoyment comes from getting to know juniors and connect one generation to the next, partially by using my title as the Seme Guy where nobody can escape from my lecherous pair of hands.

That's not all though. I will always remember watching anime together with everyone in the club, the random comments during the screening, the in-depth discussion of a particular anime or manga series, the friendly cliques that existed and last of all, the series lootings that I got! Without these lootings, I doubt my future will be fun-filled or even less stress.

Therefore, I hope this is not owari SUAC, but a mere temporary absence on my part due to further commitments. Allow my impertinence on saying that as long as I stay around here, I will do my best to attend meetings.

Ja ne, minna-chan!!!!!!!!!

Breeze in the forest

So, on 2 November 2011, I went on a solo mission to Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) to watch and enjoy a flute recital by professional flautists. The name of the programmes is A Flutey Affair and while I unfortunately missed the flute consultation and discussion, I at least manage to enjoy the recital.
Please bear with my haphazard writing below as I wrote it while the flautists/accompaning pianist were playing. And before I forgot, the mentioned players are Sin Jin How and Tan Kian Joo. Though, there were a few others who was not mentioned but equally impressive.

So, let's begin:
1st piece(flute and piano) - it gave me a mixed feeling of peacefulness while being nice and sentimental. Yeah, it also felt really slow to me.
2nd piece(same as above) - from Princess Mononoke, this piece is slightly melancholic
3rd piece (same as above) - apparently  the main theme of princess mononoke, the sour sweet feeling of love was being potrayed, as well as the longing and yearning of a loved one.
4th piece(flute duet) - A French piece, loosely translated title is Autumn Leaves. Reminds me of childhood memories, that is happy nevertheless, peppered with a little regret.
5th piece(also duet) - Fly me to the moon song. Much like the original version but feels lighter and less depressing. It was rendered into a dance-like feel, so it became similar to waltz.
6th piece(still a duet) - From Kiki's delivery service and the part shows a black cat. Therefore, it is very cute sounding, as if without worries at all.
7th piece(now a trio) - An ultra light piece. The three flutes sounds as if they are playing with each other. A little element of tai chi, but just much much happier and faster!
8th piece (upgraded to a quartet) - piece started slow, like a scene at an old train station. There are people waiting for arrival and departure. It also feels a lot like Disney openings in a way. Slow but not draggy.
9th piece(a quintet if memory serves right) -it is a mixture of Ponyo(on a sea cliff), Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro. First one is really a bright piece that it can instantly lifts up a person's soul. The next one is Spirited Away ending. Need I say anymore? XD. The next one is just  full of hope that despair seems non-existence!!!!!

It was an eye-opening experience as the set-up made the whole recital feel very personal. It brings me back to a time where music can only be enjoyed by privileged few and  in chambers, salon and what not. Nevertheless, with the recital being free, I wonder why so many people did not jump at the chance of attending though. Puzzlement and recital aside, I even managed to know someone new there. :D

Now, quiz time, do you know where the title of my post derived from? Have fun guessing! XD

PS: Waiting for klpac to give me the titles of the pieces. Really curious and interested!!!! XD

Inversi~~

I am not talking about the handphone game with the black and white circles nor a formula which includes the reverse.

What I meant by my title is......

CROSS-DRESSING

I had the shock and fun of my day when I saw a muscular guy(fairly easy on the eyes), in a strapless black dress walking along the hallway of college today. My initial reaction was that I thought I was dreaming. Like seriously, there is this manifestation of something until I heard the laughter of classmates when he entered his class. Coincidentally, the class is one that I have a secondary classmate and anime club fellow member present.

And with that, I entered the class and laugh till my guts were about to fall off. There were 4 'girls', one as mentioned about, another one with a cheongsam, one wearing tights and damn sexy and finally, one who is slightly chubbier but nonetheless, interesting(as in, he really does all the sexy poses that even normal girls would think twice before doing it)
The 'guys' on the other hand, had a effeminate touch on them. Mainly because they did not changed themselves as much as the 'girls'. Still, there are easier on the eyes than the 'girls'. I can stomach them better. XD
I do hold a fair bit of regret in me when I did not take a picture with them but oh well, I still feel like an outside anyway. But the reason they did this is something quite close to my heart, Gender Identity Disorder.

Oh, just in case I forget in the future, it is the BPSY Batch 12 that is this crazy!!! Man, I partially love my secondary classmates' tertiary classmates. XD
